Things to See & Do

For those of you who enjoy the aquatic life, visit one of the largest indoor/outdoor aquatic facilities in New Zealand at Waterworld.  Python hydroslides and Screamer speedslides for those daredevils or the Splashpad water playground for the under eight year olds.  Indoor and Outdoor pools, childrens playground, bbq area, picnic area, cafe & gym facilities – what more could you ask for!

Our Hamilton Zoo is one of the best.  Lush and tranquil surroundings make this an awesome experience for all.  With over 600 native NZ and exotic animals, this zoo with personality, has something for everyone, even enjoy a bite to eat in the cafe.

For those of you who seek an adrenalin hit, try visiting the Daytona Indoor Raceway for that heart pumping adventure or visit the Casino at Sky City and have a flutter or two – guaranteed to make the heart race!!

Want to see Waikato from above?  Why not enjoy a high flying journey in a Hot Air Balloon that stands 10 storeys high and see some of the most breathtaking scenery in our area.

A more leisurely experience is a visit to Alphra Lavenders.  See the awesome range of products, distillery and enjoy the peaceful rural setting.  Shop and gardens open Wed-Sun all year.

The sweet tooth ones in your family would definitely enjoy a trip to Donovans Chocolate Gift Shop & Cafe.  Hot chocolate, iced chocolate and yummy chocolate goodies – there is something for everyone.

Well maintained walkways meander along either side of the Waikato River.  Stroll along and admire the scenery and the wildlife or get out that cycle and burn those calories away, put on those running/walking shoes and see your daily step quota just melt away!
